After ten years as Director of the dance theater in Darmstadt, Mei Hong Lin decides to conclude her multi-faceted creative period with that work, which once made ​​her start at the Staatstheater Darmstadt. […] It was composer and guitarist Michio, who, in 2004 by Mei Hong Lin was commissioned to create a flamenco composition for the House of Bernarda Alba.

After five weeks of rehearsals at the artist residence “Think Big”, a co-production of the ballet of the Hanover State Opera and Dance Theatre International, “El baile de San Vito,” the new ensemble piece of COOPERATIVE MAURA MORALES, will be premiered the 31th of August 2013 at “International dance Theater” in Hannover
 

Maura Morales won the prestigious “Kurt Jooss Prize” with “Wunschkonzert”  music by Michio.

The award is the special appreciation for choreographers and is closely connected with the history of the city of Essen: Yesterday was the 5th Time the “Kurt Jooss Prize” awarded for young choreographers.

These are some smartphone impressions of the rehearsals of the contemporary dance theater piece “palillos 40 x 10 pesos” by Maura Morales with the “Ballet contemporaneo Endedans” in Camagüey / Cuba.

The music is inspired by the rehearsing location, the “Teatro Vellaneda”, which is also the real protagonist of this clip.

Michio wrote the music for the contemporary dancepiece “40 x 10 pesos palillos” for the Cuban ballet company ENDADANS. The choroegraphy was created by Maura Morales, who has been invited to premiere the piece on January 25th 2013 in Camagüey/Cuba.
