The COOPERATIVA MAURA MORALES is a contemporary dance company based in Düsseldorf and led by dancer/choreographer Maura Morales and guitarist/composer Michio. This core collective expands with additional artists depending on the concept and scope of the respective project.
Since its foundation in 2010, the ensemble around Maura Morales has won a number of prizes such as the renowned Kurt Jooss Prize, the jury prize for the best dance performance at the International Dance Fair in Huesca/Spain, the Förderpreis für darstellende Kunst der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf, and the DURI Prize at the International Dance Festival ACT in Bilbao/Spain.
The COOPERATIVA MAURA MORALES receives the 3 years- concept funding from the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the 3-years concept funding from the Cultural Office of the state capital Düsseldorf.
The ensemble is regularly invited to renowned dance festivals throughout Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
